💴 Have enough cash – Some spots accept cards, but most are cash-only.

🐙 Try the weird and odd things – From baby octopus on a stick to tofu doughnuts and yuba (tofu skin), it’s really a foodie’s paradise.

📍 Not just food – You’ll also find things like traditional knives, ceramics, and souvenirs too.

🚫 No walking and eating – It’s considered rude. You’re meant in front of the stall or at designated spots.

👣 Wear comfy shoes – It’s a walking market and gets packed pretty fast!

Did I discover the best sandwich spot in Osaka? 🥪🇯🇵

I found out about @my_neighbor_coffee when I was planning my trip and when I saw those sandwiches, I added it to my itinerary immediatelyy. Honestly, this was a little too close to perfection. Not to be dramatic but I actually woke up the next morning about the sandwich I had 😭

I averaged about 20k steps a day in Kyoto and this day wasn’t any different 😅 When I planned to explore Arashiyama, I didn’t realize just how much walking was involved, and trust me, this is not the trip for dainty sandals or pretty-but-painful flats 👀

Thankfully, I packed smart. I wore my @allbirdscanada sneakers on all the busy days and it was easily a 10/10 decision. Lightweight, breathable, and shockingly comfy even after hours of walking — sore feet where??

Arashiyama is a full-day experience, so be sure to come prepared! A few must-do’s:

🎋 Stroll through the iconic bamboo forest
👟 Explore the town and don’t skip the street food!
🐒 Hike up to the monkey park
🛶 Go down the river on a boat ride
🍵 Join a traditional tea ceremony

This was one of my favorite days in Kyoto, made even better by the fact that my feet weren’t crying by the end of it. @allbirdscanada, you understood the assignment 👏🏾
