And of course walking away with two free flights was a dreammm! Now I can never say I spent all those years playing basketball for nothing 😂

I would ask y’all “where should I go??” but if you know me, you already know I went straight to give those tickets to my parents, because if anyone deserves to be spoiled with such a gift, it’s definitely them 🥹🫶🏾 But I’m still so grateful for that win regardless! Mid summer check in - how’s everyone’s summer going?? ☀️

Your girl decided to hold off on big international trips this summer and I’ve been having a timeee back home! My city has been coming through with all the right vibes this summer and I’m so here for it!

This summer marks one year since I became a content creator and one of my biggest achievements so far is finally getting invited to PR eventsss 💃🏽When I got my first invitation, I wasn’t sure of what to expect, because I always hear horror stories about running into “interesting” personalities. Thankfully, I can say that I can’t relate! I’ve come across some of the sweetest creators in yyc and I love this community for us ✨🫂

It’s also @calgarystampede season so you know the city’s energy is uppp right now! 🐎🎡 Concerts, rodeo events, food tours, fireworks shows, it’s not difficult to find something to do here over the next week, so GET OUTSIDE! Stay hydrated though because this heat wave is crazyy 🫠

I honestly have no regrets about taking a break from long trips and spending the first half of summer at home. This city has quite a bit to offer in the summer and I love it here!

To summarize this incrediblee trip, here’s a list of everything I did while I was in Nairobi 🇰🇪🌟

1. Afternoon Tea at Kempinski
2. Visit The Giraffe Centre
3. Visit Bomas of Kenya
4. Game Drive at Nairobi National Park
5. Visit The Elephant Nursery
6. Maasai Interaction at The Golden Eagle
7. Spa Day at Kempinski
8. Shopping at The Maasai Market

This was such a memorable trip thanks to most of these activities. The main highlight for me was the game drive through the national park because it all felt so surreal 🥹

Pros:
✨ Relatively close to the metro, so transportation is pretty convenient.
✨ Central location in general, so if you’re down to get your steps in, you could do a 10-30 minute walk to quite a few landmarks.
✨ The common spaces (lounge, pool area, rooftop bar, cafe) are absolutely stunning and great for taking a break from the summer heat.
✨It’s a small boutique hotel so it has a very unique personality and the customer service was top tierr

Cons:
🚩The standard rooms are pretty small, so you’d have to pay attention to the room’s measurements when booking, to make sure you know what you’re signing up for!
🚩It’s located on Gran Viá, one of the most popular streets of Madrid. This means a lot of foot traffic the moment you step out of your hotel and it can be very chaotic and overwhelming sometimes.
