Overrated or worth it? Here’s what I think about Overrated or worth it? Here’s what I think about some of the more popular things that’s are often recommended to do in Japan! 🗻Mount Fuji Area: guided tour on third party cites like @getyourguidecommunity makes it more convenient. The small towns in the area are beautiful BUT keep your fingers crossed that the weather doesn’t get in the way of you actually seeing the mountains! It happens more often than you’d think, though it’s still worth visiting even if you don’t get to see it. 🍵Traditional Tea Ceremony - A great way to learn more about the Japanese culture but if you don’t like matcha, you might want to skip this one. 🎋Bamboo forest: A lovely nature walk but go earlier in the day if possible to avoid crowds. 🐒 Monkey Park: Getting there is a WORKOUT!! But it’s a lovely view at the top + who’s doesn’t love watching monkeys fool around? 🏯Osaka Castle/Garden Area: Serene and beautiful. Long lines to actually get into the castle though. 🚤 Cruise: Not 100% worth it and a bit boring 🫠 Probably skip if you don’t have enough time. 🪄Team Labs: Yes yes yes!! I’ve never seen a gallery like this before, definitely add it to your itinerary - you won’t regret it. Sunwing asked what makes travel exciting, so I pulled out the receipts to explain it 📸 I still can’t tell you why I walked more in one week in Japan than I did all year at home & had no complaints… or why mystery food in another country hits harder when you order it with zero clue what it is… or why the most random conversations with strangers across the world end up sticking with you… Travel just does something to you and honestly? I’m not mad at it because every trip leaves me with something I didn’t expect, but definitely needed. The rooms are designed to be anyone’s home away from home, and I’m particularly excited for their state of the art spa!
