After a whole YEAR of trying to stay away from this camera, y’all finally got me! Everyone has been so loud about this one and I definitely wasn’t about to be left behind 😂 But it seems to be more functional than the Pocket 2 especially with the vertical camera feature, so I finally made the switch 💃🏽

I’ve only used it twice but so far I’m loving it! Do you currently have this or are you planning to get one?? Let me knowww!

Honestly there are some things here that I simply will never do again (like the hot air balloon ride) cause getting over that fear once was enough for me and I refuse to play with my life like that again 😭 But every single experience has been worth the trip, the money, the fear, etc!! You really will never regret traveling 🥹

Part 2 of making planning easier for you! 📝

We already covered how to find activities, so here’s what to do after that!

Everyone has their own process & this is what works for me in terms of 1) Finding activities and not feeling like I missed out when I return home and 2) Being able to prioritize and making sure I don’t spend spontaneously.

I didn’t go into too much details on budgeting but basically, I usually list every interesting activity I find. Of course if I see something that’s ridiculously above what I’d like to pay, then I definitely won’t be adding it to the master list 😅 And then from that list, I select what’s fits my overall budget for the entire trip.

The way I decide what’s a “must do” activity is if it’s something that I absolutely can’t do anywhere else, or something that’s a highlight at that destination. I’d rather do one of those than 3 “budget friendly” things that I can do at other places.

And then from there I finalize! Does your planning process look a little similar? Or absolutely not?😂

Also, I use @notionhq for planning, but you can also use Google sheets if you’re looking for something that has the option to create dropdown categories. Let me know if y’all want a notion tutorial 👀

Let’s talk about planning tripss 📝 & yes some of us are still doing it without chatGPT! You can still use Al tools if you’re okay with doing primarily tourist and popular activities. But if you want to throw in hidden gems and unique local experiences, you’ll have to put in the work yourself to find them!

Figuring out activities to do can be a bit overwhelming and l’ve gotten a few questions about it, so this is my process. For my research, I usually stick to using a few platforms to avoid being all over the place because that just causes more stress.

🎭This period includes several cultural events, such as Carnival in February which means vibrant parades, music, & fun local traditions!

💸 Traveling during these months often means lower prices for flights and accommodations, so this would be a budget-friendly option.

☀️January to March is part of the peak tourist season in cities like Punta Cana, but there are still some perks like the pleasant temperatures & sunny days, perfect for enjoying the beaches. This time of year is also generally dry, meaning less chance of rainy days that might interrupt your itinerary.

🐋This period is whale-watching season in the nearby Samana Bay, so you’ll have a unique opportunity to see humpback whales migrating - a very unique experience imo.

🪩The busy tourist season means there’ll bee a lively atmosphere, with lots of events, parties, and entertainment options.

Some other destinations (based on ideal weather) include:
Anywhere else in the Caribbean islands, Southeast Asia (Thailand & Vietnam), Central America (Costa Rica, Belize), Middle East (Oman & Dubai), Australia & New Zealand, and some African countries like Cape Town & Morocco.
